Counselling Centre

In 2008, a Counselling Centre for foreign women in prostitution in Copenhagen was opened.

The Centre is open to all foreign women in prostitution regardless of their residence-status, and is staffed by social outreach workers from the Danish Centre of Prostitution and the Nest International.

The aim of the Centre has been to establish contact to groups of potential victims of human trafficking, which have otherwise been difficult to contact. The Centre is primarily used by women in street prostitution, but women in massage parlour-, escort- and bar-prostitution also visit the Counselling Centre.

The Counselling Centre has a medical clinic, a cosy living room with a TV, as well as a computer room, which can be utilized for various educational classes.

At the Counselling Centre, women can receive guidance in safe-sexual behaviour and prevention, language- and IT-classes and advice regarding legal rights. There are also opportunities for individual counselling and support. Other courses can be initiated upon the request of the women.

The Counselling Centre is located at Colbjørnsensgade 12, 1652 Copenhagen, and is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
